When is it celebrated
Andalusia Day is commemorated every 28 February. It is a fixed date that remembers the referendum on the autonomous initiative held on 28 February 1980 in the eight Andalusian provinces. Some educational centres advance their activities to the previous last school day.
Is it a holiday or a working day?
It is a labour festival typical of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia. Decree 149/1982 declared 28 February a permanent non-business day for work purposes throughout the entire Andalusian territory. Traditions and history
On 28 February 1980, the initiative was voted for Andalusia to access self-government through the procedure of article 151.
