Local festivals in Sanlúcar de Barrameda

Usual celebration

The patronal festivities honour Nuestra Señora de la Caridad Coronada, Sanlúcar's patroness and perpetual mayoress. They culminate on 15 August with the procession from the Basílica de la Caridad. On the eve, families, confraternities and associations create large salt carpets in the town centre and Barrio Alto for the image to cross.

The proclamation, novena, offering and services complete a tradition linked to the town and the sea. Sanlúcar also holds the Feria de la Manzanilla, beach horse races and maritime Virgen del Carmen celebrations.

Programme for 2026

The Town Council announced the proclamation for 24 July at 21:00 in the basilica and the procession for 15 August at 20:00. These confirmed events are not presented as the complete programme.
