Mercedes Fair and Virgin of Luna in Pozoblanco
Date, duration and usual places. The Fair and Festivals in honour of Our Lady of Mercedes will be held in 2026 from 22 September to 27, six days. The Fairgrounds, the Los Llanos Arena, the El Silo Theater and streets of the urban centre contain booths, attractions, music, theater, family activities and social gatherings.
2026 Programme. The City Council has already called the poster contests and has confirmed the bullfighting fair on Saturday, 26 September and Sunday, 27 September at the Los Llanos Bullring. The complete daily programme is usually presented in September and was not yet published as of 5 August, so performances from 2025 are not reused.
Traditions and participation. The fair combines booths, horse riding, shows, concerts and cultural programming. The Virgen de Luna constitutes another essential celebration: its pilgrimage links Pozoblanco with its sanctuary in the pasture and with Villanueva de Córdoba. The City Council, the Brotherhood of the Virgen de Luna, clubs, cassette players, associations, artists, ranchers, families and visitors participate. Saint Gregory and Holy Week complete the traditional calendar.
Local public holidays in 2026. The official calendar sets the Monday, 9 February, Virgen de Luna, and Friday, 8 May, San Gregorio. None of these two days coincide with the six days of the Mercedes Fair: patron saint's day, annual fair and non-working day are different areas.
