San Juan Fair and seafaring festivals in Benalmádena
Usual date and duration. The San Juan Fair is held in Arroyo de la Miel around the 24 June, with a fair day and night for several days. Its central places are the Mosque Square and the fairgrounds, where attractions and the Municipal Booth are installed. On 16 July, the Virgin of Carmen stars in a different seafaring celebration.
2026 Programme. The Fair and Festivals of San Juan occupied the 24 June to 29, six days. The municipal programme included daily free concerts in the Municipal Booth, performances by local groups in the Plaza de la Mezquita, attractions and activities for all ages. Before the opening, the election of the queen, ladies and knights, the triduum in the parish of the Immaculate Conception and the floral offering on 22 June were celebrated.
Traditions and participation. The programme unites worship of San Juan Bautista, music, booths and coexistence in Arroyo de la Miel. The City Council, the Brotherhood of Nuestra Señora del Rocío, Inmaculada Concepción and San Juan Bautista, academies and local groups, merchants, families and visitors participate.
Local public holidays in 2026. The municipal plenary session approved the Wednesday, 24 June, San Juan Bautista, and Thursday, 16 July, Virgen del Carmen. Only those two dates have a local work nature; The six days of the fair are not six non-working days.
