Aller local festivals

Usual date and duration. Aller's most unique celebration is the Feast of Saint Martin or Humanitarians, que tiene lugar cada 11 November en Moreda. Asturias Tourism includes it among the festivals of tourist interest in the Principality and describes a complete day, from dawn to the gastronomic and musical events in the afternoon.

Places, traditions and participation. The festival occupies the streets and squares of Moreda and the parish church of San Martín. Its characteristic events are the dawn with bands of bagpipes and bandinas, the solemn mass, the Puya del Ramu and the parade of bagpipers, traditional dance groups, floats and xandas. The food brings together dishes such as fabes, casadielles and panchón. The San Martín Humanitarian Society, the City Council, music and dance groups, clubs, neighbors, hospitality and visitors participate.

Local public holidays in 2026. The resolution published in the BOPA declares in Aller two paid and non-recoverable days: 11 November, Festival of San Martín de Los Humanitarios de Moreda, and 26 November, Cabañaquinta Mercaón Festival. They are days of the work calendar and do not in themselves delimit the duration of the celebrations nor do they accredit an annual programme.

The council also maintains festivals, fairs and markets in its different locations; The municipal portal brings together events such as the Mercaón de Cabañaquinta and parish celebrations. In August 2026, the final programme for Saint Martin has not yet been published, so only its permanent features and, separately, the already approved public holidays are included here.
