Local festivals in Legutio
Date and duration. The City Council identifies the patron saint festivities of Legutio as those of San Blas, 3 February. The town's other event is Festival of the Brotherhoods, whose usual date is the Sunday following the Nativity of the Virgin, celebrated on 8 September. In 2026 That rule places Brotherhood Sunday on 13 September. The municipal information establishes these reference days, but does not attribute a duration of several days to the 2026 edition without a complete annual programme.
Places, traditions and participation. San Blas is linked to the town's parish, a church of Romanesque origin rebuilt in the 20th century, while municipal cultural activity uses specific spaces such as the plaza, the pediment and the Kultur Etxea. The Festival of the Brotherhoods preserves in its own name the local associative tradition. In the municipality as a whole, its towns also participate, each with different celebrations: San Bartolomé in Urrunaga on 24 August, San Antolín in Urbina on 2 September and San Miguel in Elosu on 29 September. The City Council also highlights the festive character known as "Celes" in Urbina. These festivals of the nuclei do not by themselves extend the duration of the celebrations in the town of Legutio.
Local public holiday of 2026. The official calendar of the Provincial Council of Álava indicates for Legutio the Monday, 14 September, Las Cofradías. This non-working day is different from a holiday Sunday and does not convert the entire cultural period into a work break.
