Festivals and culture in San Sebastián / Donostia
The reference celebration is Semana Grande / Aste Nagusia, with main day 15 August. The usual holiday period lasts about a week in August and develops in Alderdi Eder, port, Old Town, beaches, Kursaal and festive areas of the city.
Among the associated traditions, the cannon shot, fireworks, concerts, troupes, rural sports, children's activities and group atmosphere. Participan principalmente City Hall, Donostia Kultura, troupes, cultural entities, neighbors and visitors, when the annual programme contemplates it.
El local public holiday It should not be automatically confused with the patron saint or popular festival.
