San Isidro Labrador It is one of the main celebrations in Medina de Pomar and is organised around 15 May. The Festivals in Nuestra Señora del Rosario, patron saint days par excellence, are usually celebrated at the beginning of October. Its usual places are Plaza Mayor, Plaza Somovilla, Avenida La Ronda, the Sanctuary of Santa María del Salcinal y del Rosario, the El Pinar bowling alley and the bullfighting venue.
The traditions of San Isidro include the Ascension Fair, vespers, procession, blessing of the fields, offering of the first fruits and the Ramo, dances, dulzaina, bowling, gathering and parade of peñas, music and bullfighting celebrations. The City Council, the Brotherhood of Chambermaids and Friends of the Sanctuary, the Voces Nostrae choir, the Raíces dance group, Los Requiebros, the Carmelo Alonso Bernaola Municipal Band and the peñas participate.
In the San Isidro 2026 annual programme, the date of the main festive events was Thursday 14 May to Sunday, 17 May, a duration of four days. The 14th hosted the Ascension Fair and Vespers; on the 15th, the procession, blessing, mass, bowling and festival; on the 16th, the Ramo auction, parade of peñas and bullfight; and on the 17th, the Municipal Band concert. The 2026 Rosario programme has not yet been published on the municipal portal.
