Iniesta local festivals

The most representative celebration of Iniesta is the Pilgrimage and Festival of the Virgin of Consolación, patron saint of the town and Festival of Regional Tourist Interest. It takes place on Pentecost Sunday and transports the image from the parish church to the Site and Sanctuary of Consolation along the traditional Camino de la Virgen.

  • Date and duration: The main events take place on the Pentecost weekend. In 2026 they were scheduled for 23 May and 24, with a vigil and evening on Saturday and a pilgrimage on Sunday.
  • Route and places: The departure takes place at dawn from the parish church; The itinerary passes through the Pocico de la Virgen, the Humilladero de Villarta and the Chozo before reaching the Sanctuary of Consolación.
  • Traditions: transfer of the image on shoulders, chocolate with cupcakes along the way, mass and procession in the sanctuary, food among the pine forests, popular fair, songs, flowers, votive offerings and promises from the pilgrims.
  • Fair and Festivals: During August the town's festive cycle is celebrated. The 2025 edition extended its programme from 1 August to 24 and included the pilgrimage return of the Virgin to Iniesta, proclamation, presentation of the queen and court, religious, cultural and festive events.
  • Other celebrations: San Isidro on 15 May, San Cristóbal and the Ronda de Mayos during the night of 30 April.
  • Participación: City Council, parish, Orfeón Iniestense, associations, pilgrims, families and visitors to La Manchuela.
  • Local public holidays in 2026: el 15 May and the 26 August, according to the official publication of Castile-La Mancha. These work dates are not equivalent to the entire pilgrimage or fair period.
