Local festivals in Camarena
Usual celebration
The patronal festivities honouring Our Lady of Charity take place in mid-August, with 15 August as their principal day. The procession carries the image through Camarena on its distinctive eighteenth-century Baroque carriage. The institutional record also documents a floral offering, proclamation, music, giants and big-head figures, bull events, fireworks and activities involving local peñas.
Plaza Virgen de la Caridad, the church and the procession streets are the main settings. The Town Council, confraternity, band, peñas, associations and residents participate.
