Usual date and duration. The Festes de Maig bring together activities for several weeks around the 11 May, día de Sant Anastasi, co-patron of Badalona. The most symbolic moment comes on the night of the 10th with the Cremada del Dimoni on the Pescadors beach, a tradition recovered in 1940. The party extends along the Rambla, the Plaza de la Vila, the promenade, streets and cultural facilities.
2026 Programme. The May municipal programme linked music, shows and popular culture with the Cremada, the correfoc, parades, gegants, castells and family events. The official calendar distributed the appointments before and after Sant Anastasi, so the festive duration was longer than its two local work days. In August, the Festa Major is also celebrated, a different event from the Festes de Maig.
Traditions and participation. The Dimoni, built each year with a different design, burns before the public after the pyromusical. Popular culture entities, colles de fuego, human towers, musicians, neighbourhood associations, families and visitors participate together with the City Council in streets, squares and on the beach.
Local public holidays in 2026. The Local Government Board set the Monday, 11 May, Sant Anastasi, and Monday, 25 May, Dilluns de Pasqua or Second Easter. These are the two municipal non-working days of 2026; They do not correspond to all the dates of the festive programme.
