Local festivals of Castelldefels
The festival calendar of Castelldefels has three main events: the Sea Festival in July, the summer Festa Major around the Assumption and the winter Festa Major with Castrum Fidelis in December. Catalan celebrations and neighbourhood festivals are added to them.
Usual celebration
The Sea Festivals link the city with its coastline through the Pirate Landing dramatized on the beach, sardines, music, gastronomy and the participation of the Agrupació de Pirates Sardiners i Trabucaires. The summer Festa Major brings together seguici, giants, bastoners, tabalers, sardanas, castellers, processions, concerts, fairgrounds and fireworks in the Plaza de la Iglesia, the Parc de la Muntanyeta, the castle, the streets of the centre and other municipal spaces. The City Council coordinates the events with the Popular Culture Group, Santa Maria parish, entities, clubs and neighbourhood associations.
2026 programme
The municipal tourist calendar placed the Sea Festival from 10 July to 12, the summer Festa Major from 14 August to 16 and the winter festival from 5 December to 8. The 2026 summer programme included previous events from 7 August: open rehearsal of human towers, pyromusical representation of the legend of the Gar-i-Got in the Parc de la Muntanyeta, human tower day, giant activity by the watchtowers and sardanas in the Plaza de la Iglesia. For 13 August to 16, an amusement fair, seguici, procession, concerts and activities were scheduled in the castle and the centre.

The official municipal calendar sets local public holidays in Castelldefels in 2026 on Friday, 14 August and Monday, 7 December. They are two specific days within multi-day programmes; The July Sea Festivals are not in themselves local non-working days.
