The Roser de Maig is the main spring festival of Cerdanyola del Vallès and is usually celebrated on the first weekend of May. The other major municipal event is the Festa de Tardor de Sant Martí, around 11 November.
Usual tradition
The Roser de Maig combines a proclamation, concerts, pyromusical, amusement fair, Modernist Fair, sports activities and Catalan popular culture. The Creu de Maig mass in the parish of Sant Martí coexists with giants, trabucaires, bastoners, sardanas, correfoc, lace makers and local dances. The events are distributed across the Francesc Layret, Abat Oliba and Sant Medir squares, the Parc del Turonet, Parc Xarau, Pla de les Alzines, Ateneu, sports facilities and museums. The City Council organises the festival with clubs, neighbourhood associations, cultural entities, Colla Gegantera, Joves Diables, musicians, merchants and fairgrounds.

The 2026 edition lasted four days, from Friday, 1 May to Monday, 4 May. The municipal programme included proclamation, concerts, pyromusical show, Creu de Maig mass, correfoc, giants, sardanas and dances; The Modernist Fair occupied three days and the amusement fair ran for four days. The municipal plenary session approved Monday, 4 May, for Roser de Maig, and Wednesday, 11 November, for Sant Martí, as local public holidays in 2026. They are paid local days and are not recoverable; The rest of the four days of the Roser do not therefore acquire the same working condition.
