Local festivals in Cornellà de Llobregat

The Corpus Festa Major is Cornellà's principal celebration and is accompanied by a stable calendar of popular culture and district festivals.

Usual celebration

Corpus is usually celebrated on a moving date between May and June, with its main programme lasting several days, normally from Thursday to Sunday. Plaça de l'Església hosts the ceremonial Ball de l'Àliga and opening speech; squares, parks and streets across the districts host gegants, castells, a correfoc, concerts, a fair, family events and a fireworks finale. The Town Council organises the festival with cultural groups, residents' associations, colles, artists, residents and visitors.

Local public holidays in 2026

The municipal calendar sets Monday 25 May and Friday 5 June as local public holidays. These are the two local non-working days in 2026 and do not cover every day or every event in the Corpus festival.

Other cultural events

La Jordiada in April, the Aplec de la Sardana, the Flama del Canigó and district festivals complete the cultural calendar with music, dance, traditions and participation by local groups.
