Local festivals in Sabadell

The September Festa Major and Aplec de la Salut are the two principal reference points in a calendar that also includes district festivals.

Usual celebration

The Festa Major is usually celebrated from the first Friday in September to the following Monday and lasts four days. Plaça de Sant Roc, Passeig de la Plaça Major, the city centre, parks and cultural venues host the opening speech, seguici, gegants, castells, a correfoc, concerts, sport and family activities. The City Council organises it with popular-culture groups, colles, associations, artists, residents and visitors.

Programme for the 2026 Aplec de la Salut

The 2026 edition ran from 9 to 11 May. The centre hosted the craft and food fair, capgrossos and gegants cercaviles, a gathering of festival beasts, Sabafolk and a correfoc; Monday brought an urban walk, events at Santuari de la Salut, the city cercavila, a concert by Banda de Música and sardanes in Plaça del Doctor Robert.

Local public holidays in 2026

The official calendar declares Monday 11 May, Aplec de la Salut, and Monday 7 September, Festa Major, as local public holidays. These are the two local non-working days in 2026; the Festa Major, scheduled from 4 to 7 September, does not turn all four days into public holidays.

Other cultural events

The Creu Alta, Ca n'Oriac, Can Rull, Gràcia and other district festivals complete the cultural calendar from spring to autumn with music, popular culture and residents' participation.
