Local festivals in Santa Coloma de Gramenet
Festa Major d'Estiu is Santa Coloma de Gramenet's principal celebration, bringing together popular culture, music and community activity throughout the city.
Usual celebration
Festa Major d'Estiu is usually celebrated for four days on the first weekend in September. Plaça de la Vila, Parc d'Europa, Parc de Can Zam, Mas Fonollar, Can Roig i Torres and district squares host the opening speech, seguici, gegants, castells, correfocs, concerts, sardanes, family activities and the Piromusical. The City Council and Festival Committee organise it with traditional-culture groups, associations, local artists, residents and visitors.
Programme for 2026
The 2026 edition is scheduled from 4 to 7 September with 116 activities, 52 local artists and 30 city organisations. It begins with bell-ringing, the seguici and opening speech; includes the Trobada de Gegants, correfocs, a castellers day, concerts and family events; and ends on Monday with sardanes, the Piromusical in Can Zam and performances in Parc d'Europa and Plaça de la Vila.
Local public holidays in 2026
The municipal calendar declares Monday 25 May, Second Easter, and Thursday 24 September, Mare de Déu de la Mercè, as local public holidays. These are the two local non-working days in 2026 and do not coincide with the four days of Festa Major d'Estiu.
Other cultural events
Music festivals at Mas Fonollar and Parc d'Europa, activities at La CIBA and Can Roig i Torres, and district festivals maintain a cultural calendar distributed across the city.
