Local festivals in Terrassa

Festa Major is Terrassa's principal celebration and coexists with more than thirty district festivals and other traditions in the local calendar.

Usual celebration

Festa Major is usually celebrated around the first Sunday after Sant Pere and lasts several days between late June and early July. Raval de Montserrat, Parc de Vallparadís, Seu d'Ègara, squares, streets and cultural venues host the Baixada del Drac, ceremonial events, gegants, castells, a correfoc, concerts, sport, heritage visits and fireworks. The City Council organises it with cultural groups, colles, associations, artists, residents and visitors.

Programme for 2026

The 2026 edition ran from 3 to 8 July with 346 activities. It began with the Baixada del Drac and ceremonial events in Raval de Montserrat, brought together music, popular culture, circus, sport and open days at Museu de Terrassa venues, and ended on Wednesday 8 with the Castell de Focs.

Local public holidays in 2026

The municipal e-office identifies Thursday 2 April, Maundy Thursday, and Monday 6 July, Festa Major, as local public holidays. These are the two local non-working days in 2026; all six days of the festival programme do not share that employment scope.

Other cultural events

The Sant Pere, Ca n'Aurell, la Maurina, Poble Nou and other district festivals complete the spring and summer cultural calendar with events organised by residents' associations.
