The Festa Major de Vic honours Sant Miquel dels Sants and extends for about two weeks a programme whose ceremonial centre remains on 5 July.
Usual tradition
The Town Hall describes more than a hundred activities for about fifteen days: proclamation, Crida de las colles, Festa Major Jove, concerts, sports, family events, sardanas, castells, correfocs and fireworks. On 5 July, the Vers de l'Espígol and the Seguici de Sant Miquel dels Sants are celebrated, documented since 1779. The procession leaves the Town Hall, walks along Sant Miquel street and arrives at the Sant Pere cathedral with a municipal corporation, heralds, maceros, giants, Caps de Llúpia, Àliga, Bou, Mulassa, Cavalls Cotoners, musicians and Sagals d'Osona. After the solemn service, the imagery dances are performed in the Cathedral Square. The Festa Major Commission and the City Council coordinate cultural, sports, youth and neighbourhood entities.
2026 programme
The 2026 edition It took place from 27 June to 12 July, sixteen calendar days, with more than one hundred activities. He maintained the proclamation, the procession, the Seguici and the service of Sant Miquel, the Festa Major concert and the Crida with the groups. On 5 July, the main event left the Town Hall at 10:00, arrived at the cathedral for the 11:00 service and concluded with the dances of the festive imagery in the square. The rest of the programme distributed popular culture, music, visits, sports and family activities in the Plaça Major, parks, venues and facilities of Vic.

Vic's official calendar declared local holidays on Monday, 25 May and Monday, 6 July. In 2026, the cultural day of Sant Miquel dels Sants fell on Sunday, 5 July and the local public holiday was placed on the following day; The remaining days of the programme were not non-working days because they belonged to the Festa Major.

Within the festive cycle, the Crida organises the competitive and community participation of the colles, while the Festa Major Jove concentrates a differentiated youth programme. Both complement the historical ceremonial of the Seguici without replacing its central date.
