Usual celebration
The August Fair honouring Our Lady of Charity usually opens on 14 August with fireworks. Mass and the procession take place on the 15th, when the image returns to its shrine after nine days in the town church. The fairground contains casetas and rides.
Other traditions include La Encamisá or Carrera de San Antón on 16 January and the Las Pascuas pilgrimage on Easter Monday.
Local public holidays in 2026
The Extremadura Government designated 6 April and 17 August. These are municipal non-working days, not the full duration of the fair.
