El Carnaval del Campo Arañuelo, a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest, is the main popular celebration of Navalmoral de la Mata. Its date varies with the Holy Week calendar and usually lasts six days, from Friday to Ash Wednesday. The central places are the Avenida de las Angustias, the Jardincillo, the Plaza de España, the streets of the centre, the Multiusos and the Carnival Museum.
Traditions include the chupinazo, parades of groups and floats, murgas and chirigotas contest, parades, carnival dance, children's activities, Fat Sunday and burial of the sardine. The City Council, groups, clubs, murgas, associations, educational centres, neighbors and visitors participate. The Virgen de las Angustias, with events from 6 September to 15, and San Miguel and San Andrés are different religious celebrations.
