Local festivals in Alcorcón
Usual celebration
The patronal festivities of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios are usually held from late August until 8 September and last several days. The Town Council and the Hermandad organise events with the Municipal Band, associations and neighbourhood groups. The fairground, Plaza de España, neighbourhoods and cultural centres host stalls, concerts, an opening speech, family activities and community programmes. On 8 September, the solemn Mass and the patron's procession pass through the town centre.
Programme for 2026
The Santo Domingo and San Dominguín festivities ran from 8 to 12 April 2026. The municipal programme included a floral offering, triduum and Mass at Santa María la Blanca, an opening speech and music in Plaza de España, a street parade with big-head figures, the El Puchero popular pilgrimage and the procession on the 11th to Santo Domingo de la Calzada parish church.
Local public holidays in 2026
The official labour calendar declared 6 April and 8 September as paid, non-recoverable local public holidays in Alcorcón. The 6 April non-working day was separate from the Santo Domingo and San Dominguín programme, which began two days later.
Other events
Carnival, neighbourhood festivals and programmes at the Teatro Buero Vallejo complete the municipal cultural calendar beyond the two main celebrations.
