Local festivals in Pinto
The August patronal festival honours the Virgen de la Asunción and forms Pinto's principal popular celebration. The Town Council and its Festivals department organise events with peñas, associations, brotherhoods, parishes, artists, municipal services and local residents.
Usual celebration
The cycle usually lasts about one week and culminates on 15 August. The fairground, Plaza de la Constitución, central streets and Santo Domingo de Silos parish church host the opening speech, concerts, peña activities, bull-running events, communal stews, children's entertainment, a procession and religious services. The festival combines devotion to the Assumption with peñas and families gathering in town-centre and fairground spaces.
Local public holidays in 2026
The Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid designated Thursday 19 March and Friday 15 May as Pinto's local public holidays. Neither coincided with the August patronal festival: its summer cultural programme does not make the remaining programme days non-working holidays.
Other cultural events
The Fiestas del Santísimo Cristo del Calvario are celebrated over several days in May. The Cristo chapel, the parish church and Pinto's streets host the descent of the image, Masses, a procession, music, brass bands, dancing and performances by local groups. The Princesa de Éboli Renaissance Festival adds historical re-enactments and heritage-related cultural events in June.
