Las Festivals in May in honour of the Virgin of Health They are the main celebration of Alcantarilla. Their big week usually lasts about ten days. The central places are the Ermita del Agua Salá, the church of San Pedro Apóstol, the squares of San Pedro, Adolfo Suárez and the Inmaculada, the Festival Grounds, the Acueducto Park and Calle Mayor.
Traditions include pilgrimage, garden mass, floral offering and procession of the patron saint, chupinazo, garden huts, folklore, concerts, float parade, Witch Trial and Parade, Burning of the Witch and pyromusical show. The City Council, the Brotherhood of the Virgin of Health, the Federation of Festive Peñas, associations, neighbors and visitors participate.
In the 2026 annual programme, the activities are distributed during May and the date of the big week goes from Friday 22 May to Sunday, 31 May, a duration of ten days. On the 22nd it opens with a chupinazo in the Plaza de San Pedro; On the 23rd the pilgrimage is celebrated from the hermitage, and from the 28th to the 30th the barracks operate. The offering is on the 29th, the float parade on the 30th and the mass, procession, fireworks and closing on the 31st.
Los local Alcantarilla public holidays in 2026 it's friday 29 May, in honour of the Virgin of Health, and on Tuesday 15 September, for the Pilgrimage of the Virgin of Fuensanta. Only the first coincides with the May Festival.
