Usual celebration
The Dénia Festa Major, dedicated to the Santíssima Sang, is usually held over about ten days in July. The town centre, Glorieta, the Church of the Assumption, the harbour and the bullring host the opening rockets, Bous a la Mar, music, dance, Mass, the procession, floats and fireworks.
The Town Hall organises the programme with the Santíssima Sang brotherhood, the year's young festival group, festival clubs, cultural associations and festival committees; residents and visitors take part in the events.
2026 programme
The official programme brings together more than sixty events from 3 to 12 July 2026. It includes the children's opening rocket on the 3rd, the main opening and Bous a la Mar on the 4th, the Santíssima Sang Mass and procession on the 8th, the float parade on the 11th, and the equestrian display and closing fireworks on the 12th.
Local public holidays in 2026
The Generalitat Valenciana sets Monday 13 April 2026, the feast of Saint Vincent, and Wednesday 8 July 2026, the feast of the Most Precious Blood.
Other events
The Fallas in March and the Moors and Christians festivities in August complete the calendar with fallas monuments, parades, music and events organised by their commissions and federations.
