Local festivals of Elda
Los Moors and Christians of Elda, dedicated to San Antón and declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest in 2026, bring together nine groups: five from the Christian side and four from the Moorish side. The celebration usually lasts five days, from Thursday to Monday, around the first weekend in June. Its characteristic settings are the streets of the centre, the Plaza de la Constitución and the Embassy Castle, in addition to the troupe barracks.
- Date and duration in 2026: Thursday 28 May to Monday 1 June, cinco días.
- Annual programme: the Entry of Bands and the collective interpretation of the pasodoble Idella official events opened. The calendar included a Children's Parade, Moorish Entrance, Christian Entrance, embassies, harquebucery, offering and procession; The return of San Antón to his hermitage and the fireworks closed the edition.
- Participación: The Central Board of Comparsas, captaincies, flag bearers, bands, revelers and the public participate in parades and parades. The municipal Souk occupied the Plaza de la Concordia during the five days.
- Other celebrations: Elda maintains the Fallas, Holy Week and the Major Festivals of September in honour of the Virgin of Health and the Christ of Good Success.
- Local public holidays in 2026: el 8 and el 9 September, Patron Saint Festivities. They are non-recoverable work days from the local calendar and should not be confused with the entire duration of the Major Festivals.
