Patron Saint Festivities and Moors and Christians of Santa Pola

Date, duration and usual places. The festivities in honour of the Virgin of Loreto are celebrated from 31 August to 8 September, nueve días. The Castle-Fortress, the Glorieta, the port, Levante beach and the streets of the centre host the proclamation, the festive events and the patron saint ceremonies. From 13 July to 16, the Virgen del Carmen stars in an independent seafaring celebration.

2026 Programme. The City Council maintains for the patron associations the opening with a proclamation on 31 August, three days of Moors and Christians, three days of popular activity and the last two dedicated to the Virgin of Loreto. In 2026, he appointed the musician Pepe Andreu Garzón as crier and prepared the festival book, but as of 4 August, he had not yet published the complete daily programme on his website. Therefore, the specific times or concerts must be consulted when that document appears.

Traditions and participation. The Moorish Assault on Levante beach, the Moorish Conquest and Entry on 1 September, the Reconquista and Christian Entry on the 2nd, the Gala Parade on the 3rd and the Multicolor on the 6th precede the offering, serenade, mass and patron procession. Seven groups participate, the Cultural Festival Association of Moors and Christians, the Festival Commission, local groups, the Fishermen's Guild and citizens.
