Festes de Santa Quitèria de Almassora
Date, duration and usual places. Santa Quitèria tiene su día grande el 22 May and takes approximately a week, preceded by the pilgrimage that takes the image from the hermitage to the municipality. The hermitage and its place, the Pere Cornell square, the town centre and the streets of the festive routes concentrate the events.
Celebration of 2026. Friday, 22 May, was the central date and local holiday. The municipal page maintains the pilgrimage, Les Calderes and the usual cultural, religious, bullfighting, musical and children's programme documented, but still links the 2025 script; For this reason, they are not attributed to 2026 concerts or schedules from the previous edition.
Traditions and participation. In Les Calderes they cook 22 rice and chicken boilers and the food is distributed in clay pots. The festival is also distinguished by the pilgrimage, processions, proclamations, bous al carrer, concerts and children's games. The City Council, Festival Board, queen and court of honour, clubs, associations, cooks, neighbourhood and visitors participate. The Roser festivals, in October, form another patronal cycle.
Local public holidays in 2026. The Plenary of Almassora designated the Monday, 13 April, Sant Vicent, and Friday, 22 May, Santa Quitèria. They are the two local festivals paid and non-recoverable; May's schedule length is longer than its single local business day.
