La Fira i Festes honours San Francisco de Borja between the end of September and the beginning of October. The date of the edition of 2026 was set for 2 October to 5, lasting four days. Its main places are the streets and squares of the historic centre, the themed markets and the fairgrounds, which concentrate shows, music, street theater, crafts and family activities. The fair has its roots in the annual market privilege granted by Jaume II in 1310.
Among its traditions, the Tio de la Porra, a satirical herald documented since 1871 and recognized as an Asset of Local Relevance. On the first day, bands with nineteenth-century uniforms, large glasses and noses tour the schools after receiving the baton of command in the Plaza Mayor to announce the start of the festival. Schoolchildren, musicians, artists, merchants, associations and the public of all ages participate; The usual programme includes correfocs, markets, performances and attractions.
Los local public holidays in Gandía in 2026, independent of the four days of programming, were the 13 April, San Vicente Ferrer, and the 5 October, San Francisco de Borja–Gandía Fair, in accordance with the resolution of the Generalitat Valenciana.
