Haro Wine Battle Programme 2026

The Battle of Haro Wine was held on Monday 29 June 2026 in the Bilibio Cliffs. The programme published by La Rioja Tourism detailed the climb, the targets, the departure of the pilgrims, the mass, the beginning of the battle and the return to the city.

Monday 29 June 2026

  • 07:00: beginning of the bus ascent from the Tirón river bridge area, on the esplanade at the entrance to the campsite, to the area set up in the fields. The pick-up and drop-off service continued until 11:30.
  • 07:30: alegres dianas.
  • 08:00: departure of the pilgrims towards the Riscos de Bilibio.
  • 08:45: holy mass in San Felices. Then, after the rocket fire, the Battle of Wine begins, set by the brass bands La Pacharranga and Ascape.
  • 11:00: musical setting in the Plaza de la Paz by the charanga Doctor Pío.
  • 12:00: arrival of the pilgrims to the Plaza de la Paz to perform the traditional tours to the sound of brass bands from the peñas and Ascape. Afterwards, parade to the bullring.

Lugar y acceso

The battle took place in the fields near the hermitage of San Felices, in the Riscos de Bilibio. The special bus service connected Haro with the authorized area between 07:00 and 11:30 approximately. The official source asked to follow the specific instructions published for access.

Indumentaria y normas básicas

The official tourist information recommended wearing white and wearing a red holiday scarf. To throw the wine, boots, non-glass bottles, sulfators, cauldrons, water guns and other containers suitable for liquids were allowed. The festive objective is to dye the other participants with wine while still singing and dancing with the brass bands.
