Sella 2026 International Descent Programme
El 88.º Descenso Internacional del Sella is celebrated on Saturday 8 August 2026 between Arriondas and Ribadesella. The Ribadesella City Council has published the complete programme of the day, from the morning parade to the night parade of champions.

Saturday 8 August 2026
- 10:00: traditional parade through the streets of Arriondas, with bagpipe bands, brass bands, folk groups and riverside associations.
- 11:50: outing in verse by Santi Cazorla and singing of "Asturias, beloved homeland."
- 12:00: departure of the 88th International Descent of the Sella from Arriondas.
- 13:05 aproximadamente: arrival of the first boats at the finish line of Ribadesella and presentation of medals to the first three male and female boats on the podium.
- 14:00-19:30: Free shuttle bus service between Ribadesella and Campos de Oba, with departures from the Ribadesella bus station and the La Ribera car park, in Lloviu. The last service leaves for Ribadesella at 7:00 p.m. and for Arriondas at 7:30 p.m.
- 14:30: salida del Tren Fluvial hacia Lloviu.
- 14:40: reception of the Fluvial Train at the Lloviu station.
- After receipt: picnic in the Campos de Oba, in Lloviu.
- 17:00: awards ceremony in the Oba Fields.
- 17:45: salida del Tren Fluvial hacia Oviedo.
- 20:00: Sella Champions parade through the streets of Ribadesella.
Datos deportivos confirmados
The official regulations for 2026 set the competitive start at 12:00 and establish the main route from Arriondas to Ribadesella. CODIS and the Royal Spanish Canoe Federation organise this edition, also integrated into the ICF 2026 Canoe Marathon World Series.
