Aste Nagusia 2026 Programme in Bilbao

Bilbao celebrará su Semana Grande del Saturday 22 August to Sunday 30 August 2026. The City Council has confirmed music, theater and street arts, festivals and more than a hundred Basque cultural activities during the nine days.

Notice: The programme may undergo changes. It is advisable to check the official information before going, especially the routes, capacity and possible last minute adjustments.

Daily activities from 23 August to 30

  • 10:00: txistularis and bagpipers through the Seven Streets.
  • 11:00-13:00: Parade of Giants and Big Heads from Euskal Museoa Bilbao, with a different route every day.
  • 12:00: Municipal Music Band at the Arenal Kiosk and bilbainadas or popular music at the Doña Casilda Park Pergola.
  • 13:00: bertsolaris in Plaza Santiago; on Wednesday the 26th, bertso-bazkaria at 2:00 p.m.
  • 19:00: euskal dantzak, pilgrimages and displays in the Plaza del Gas.
  • 19:30: family theater in the Pergola of Doña Casilda Park.
  • 12:30 y 21:15: theater and street arts in the Plaza de la Convivencia from the 23rd to the 29th; on the 30th only at 12:30.

Saturday 22 August 2026

  • 18:00-18:45: Sama Siku fanfare around Arenal, before the txupin.
  • 19:15-21:15: Sama Siku accompanies the opening of the txosnas.
  • 20:00 y 23:00: Akerbeltz festival in the Circular square.
