Holy Week in Ciudad Real 2026 programme
The municipal Encuentro de Pasiones 2026 guide placed the programme between the Friday of Sorrows, 27 March, and Easter Sunday, 5 April, with an earlier procession on Passion Sunday, 22 March. Every departure in its processions section is summarised below with its time and venue.
Passion Sunday and Friday of Sorrows
- Sunday 22, 18:00: Jesús Nazareno from San Pedro parish church, returning at 21:30.
- Friday 27, 20:00: Dolorosa de Santiago from the Guardapasos building on Calle Quevedo, returning at 00:35.
Palm Sunday, 29 March
Las Palmas left Colegio Salesianos on Calle Ramírez de Arellano at 12:00 and returned at 15:30. In the afternoon, Coronación de Espinas left La Merced parish church at 18:00, and Prendimiento left Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles at 18:30.
Tuesday and Wednesday of Holy Week
On Tuesday 31, Medinaceli left at 17:15 and Esperanza at 17:40, both from Nuestra Señora del Pilar; Penas departed the Carmelite convent at 21:00. On Wednesday 1, the Procesión del Mayor Dolor left San Pedro at 00:00, and Flagelación left the Guardapasos building on Calle Quevedo at 18:00.
Maundy Thursday, 2 April
The Silent Procession left San Pedro at 03:00, returning at 07:15. Afternoon departures from the Guardapasos building on Calle Quevedo were Cristo de la Caridad at 17:45, Santa Cena at 18:30, Ecce-Homo at 18:55 and Dolorosa de Santiago at 19:45.
Good Friday, 3 April
Jesús Nazareno opened the day from San Pedro at 00:00. The same church saw morning departures by Oración en el Huerto at 10:30, Encuentro at 10:55, Jesús Caído at 11:05, Perdón y de las Aguas at 11:20 and Misericordia at 11:35. Afternoon departures were Descendimiento at 19:55 from the Remedios hermitage; Cristo de la Piedad at 20:15 from the Cathedral; Angustias at 20:15 and Santo Entierro at 20:30 from La Merced; and Dolores (Ave María) at 21:20 from the Cathedral.
Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday
On Saturday 4, Nuestra Señora de la Soledad left San Pedro at 18:00 and returned at 21:25. On Sunday 5, Resucitado left Santa María del Prado Cathedral at 12:00 with Jesús Resucitado and María Santísima de la Alegría, returning at 14:15.
