Local festivals and culture in Sencelles

The municipal area of Fires, Festes i Mercats indicates that the City Council organises the Sencelles and Biniali fairs together with the mayoral delegation, companies, merchants, local farmers, entities and associations of the municipality.

• Patronal festival of Sencelles: Santa Àgueda, with the main day 5 February.
• Festivals in verano: Festes de la Mare de Déu d'Agost, with the main day on 15 August. The official programme for 2025 was held from 1 August to 17.
• Usual duration: Santa Àgueda is programmed around its patron saint acts; The Mare de Déu d'Agost usually lasts more than two weeks according to a recent municipal programme.
• Usual places: streets and squares of Sencelles, especially Plaça de la Vila, downtown streets and municipal spaces; The Fira de Maig also occupies streets such as Antoni Maura, Sor Francinaina Cirer and Es Rafal.
• Associated traditions: fences, cultural and family activities, festivals, recreational proposals, samples, gastronomy, paradetes, animal shows and recognition of the shepherds at the Fira de Maig.
• Participación: City Council, fair commission, Biniali delegation, associations, local entities, merchants, farmers, neighbors and visitors.
• Local public holidays 2026: The official calendar of the Balearic Islands includes for Sencelles the 5 February and the 27 February; For Biniali, the 27 February and the 10 July. They are not equivalent to the entire festive period.
