Festes de la Mare de Déu d'Agost in Sencelles
The Festes de la Mare de Déu d'Agost are Sencelles's main summer celebration. Over several days, streets, squares and cultural venues host music, traditions, sport and community gatherings.
When they take place
The central day is 15 August, the Assumption of Mary. Events generally begin in late July or early August and continue until the following weekend.

Places and characteristic events
Plaça de la Vila is a principal venue, alongside the parish church of Sant Pere, Plaça Nova, Can Bril, Can Garau and other locations. The programme combines cercaviles, xeremiers, gegants i caparrots, concerts, open-air dances, fireworks, family activities, sport and religious observances.

Tradition and participation
The solemn Assumption service, Ball de l'Oferta, community refreshments and corregudes de joies belong to the main day. The Town Council, parish, cultural associations, musical groups, committees, young organisers and sports bodies all contribute to a strongly community-led programme.
