Festes Majors, Festa del Mercat and culture in Amposta

The main festival of Amposta is the August Festes Majors, traditionally linked to the Mare de Déu de l'Assumpció. The central reference day is 15 August, although the municipal programme usually extends the celebration for several days, with popular events, music, family activities, sports, culture and participation of local entities.

Otro evento cultural muy reconocible es la Festa del Mercat a la Plaça, dedicated to recreating the Amposta of the early 20th century with a market, trades, gastronomy, music, shows and citizen participation. The cultural programming is completed with the municipal agenda, the Museu de les Terres de l'Ebre, musical societies, activities around the Ebro and proposals linked to the Delta.
