Badajoz Carnival 2026 programme
This official 2026 schedule summarises the published dates, times and venues. Times and activities may be changed by the organisers.
3 to 13 February
The Official Murgas Competition runs from 3 to 13 February at the López de Ayala Theatre. The children's and youth COMBITA contest takes place from 17:00 on Thursday 12.
13 to 17 February
Friday 13 features the children's parade at 16:00 and opening proclamation at 20:30. Street Carnival and the decorated contraptions route take place on Saturday 14, followed by the Grand Parade at 12:00 on Sunday 15. Children's events continue on Monday 16 and the Burial of the Sardine begins at 11:00 on Tuesday 17.
19 to 22 February
Thursday 19 brings recognition and carnival celebration events. Friday 20 features a costume competition and comparsas moving between squares; the Grand Gala is held on Saturday 21 and the farewell parade starts at 13:00 on Sunday 22.
