Alzira Holy Week 2026 programme

The official Board of Brotherhoods and Confraternities agenda lists the general events of Holy Week in Alzira in 2026. The main processional cycle ran from 29 March to 4 April 2026, preceded by exhibitions and the proclamation.

Wednesday 25 March

  • 19:30: opening at Casa de la Cultura of the exhibitions for the 23rd School Drawing Competition and 37th National Holy Week Poster Competition.

Saturday 28 March: proclamation

  • 18:30: reception for the authorities and Board of Brotherhoods and Confraternities at the Town Hall.
  • 19:30: Holy Week proclamation at Gran Teatro Municipal.
  • 22:30: dinner honouring the speaker at Rex Natura.

Sunday 29 March: Palm Sunday

  • 11:30: gathering of worshippers and brotherhood members in Plaza Primero de Mayo.
  • 11:40: blessing and Palm Procession with the representation of the Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Route along Hort de Frares, Plaza Mayor, Correos and Mayor Santa Catalina, ending in Plaza Constitución.

Tuesday 31 March: Holy Tuesday

  • 20:45: gathering at the home of the Clavarios Mayores.
  • 22:00: transfer of the Holy Cross from the Board's headquarters in Mayor Santa María. Route along Santa Lucía, San Roque, Plaza Constitución, Mayor Santa Catalina, Correos, avenida Santos Patronos, Casalicios, Calderón de la Barca, Plaza Mayor, Benito Pérez Galdós, Plaça d'Alacant and Gandía, ending at Pare Vicent Ribes, 10, where its dosel was installed.

Wednesday 1 April: Holy Wednesday

  • 17:15: official visit to the doseles.
  • Around midnight: announcement of the Doseles Competition decision at the Town Hall.

Friday 3 April: Good Friday

  • 18:30: General Holy Burial Procession from Plaza de Santa María. Route along Mayor Santa María, Santa Lucía, San Roque, Plaza Constitución, Mayor Santa Catalina, Faustino Blasco, Calderón de la Barca, Plaza Mayor, Pérez Galdós, Reyes Católicos, Doctor Ferrán, avenida José Pau and Arcediano Pedro Espulgues, ending at Nuestra Señora del Lluch parish church.

Saturday 4 April: Holy Saturday

  • From 00:00: Resurrection Encounter in Plaza Mayor, with the Board of Brotherhoods and Confraternities.
