Usual celebration
The main days fall around 15, 16 and 17 August. Religious services take place at the Santuario de las Angustias and San Nicolás de Bari parish church; dances and activities are held at the river swimming area, Plaza del Rollo, Plaza del Santo Cristo and other places around the town.
The most distinctive event is the Molinaseca Water Festival, held every 17 August. Its traditions include hot chocolate and the release of water along Calle Real, as well as brass bands and community celebrations. The León Provincial Council lists it as a Popular Event of Provincial Tourist Interest.
Programme for 2026
The 2026 edition runs from 6 to 17 August. It includes a novena, exhibition, mountain race, communal paella, football, street parades, processions, Masses, a tour of local wine cellars, dances and open-air parties. Events on 17 August include hot chocolate, two releases of water, games at the river swimming area, a brass band, a charity caldero meal and live music.
