Fallas de Alzira
The Fallas transform Alzira with large and children's monuments, fireworks, music and the activity of its commissions. The celebration fills streets, squares and casals, and culminates on Saint Joseph's Day with the cremà.
Celebration date
The main festival days are normally 16-19 March. The wider Fallas calendar begins earlier with presentations, the ninot exhibition, Crida, parade and other events organised by the Junta Local Fallera and its commissions.

Location and atmosphere
The monuments stand in many districts of Alzira. Plaça del Regne hosts the mascletaes, while other events use the Town Hall, Casa de la Cultura, Gran Teatre and streets across the city. The casals and street parties complete Fallas life.
A festival built by its commissions
The City Council describes the Fallas as an important means of social integration. The commissions carry out cultural activity throughout the festival year, commission monuments, publish llibrets and take part in Valencian-language theatre, presentations, parades and competitions.

Participation and practical advice
Falleres and fallers of all ages, artists, pyrotechnicians, musicians, local organisations, residents and visitors take part. During mascletaes and cremà, visitors should respect safety perimeters; the official map and traffic restrictions are useful when touring the monuments.
